Max Ingrand was artistic director of Milano interior design company Fontana Arte during 1954–1967.  He was elected president of the French scouting association (Association Française de l'Éclairage) in 1968. He founded the company Verre Lumière, one of the first producers of halogen lamps, in 1968.

Fontana Arte is an Italian company founded in Milian (as Fontana Arte ) in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti and specialized in glass processing and the production of furnishing accessories. It is known for its processing of curved glass and for the production of lighting fixtures, becoming over the years a prominent name in Italian design.
