About Maja Lithander Smith

The consummate treasure hunter, Maja Lithander Smith has long traveled the globe in search of one-of-a-kind pieces to elevate her design work and clients’ homes. FOUND by Maja was born out of a desire to share the beauty she finds in her travels more broadly.  With a background in interiors, product design and retail, Maja’s curated and collaborative collections include fabrics, rugs, furnishings, lighting and decorative home accessories.

Through an exploration of color (palette of blues, greens, pinks and eponymous ‘Maja blue’), and antiques from the past, Maja creates an eclectic style that fuses approachable elegance and refined yet exotic details. Her work inspires a sense of place and emotion into every space. Her vintage collection is procured from marketplaces and artisan-friends around the globe.  The SF Store and online boutique were designed to share those finds by opening a treasure trove of all the best of her travels and collections.

"Found By Maja, an atmospheric abode with a gallery floor, keeps up with the interior design angle but stands out, thanks to the emphasis on global inspiration and a strong nod to fashion" - San Francisco Chronicle

Maja has been featured in C Magazine, Veranda, Forbes, Financial Times, and her work has been showcased in San Francisco Cottages & Gardens, Marie Claire Maison Italia and Luxe Interiors and Design.
