Found during a recent trip to Paris, this pair caviar server is silver plate and 24k gold. 

Always use 24k gold or Mother-of-Pearl to server caviar.   Avoid other metals, as reactive metals can impart an unpleasant, metallic flavor to the delicate caviar.
