Black-painted wooden box with glazed ceramic top with crackled gold and precious pink stone adornments. The box was created by the daughter of French ceramicist, Francois Lembo, Mithé Espelt, in the 1960s and 1970s. This eye-catching box is perfect for your vanity.

The box is lined with forest green felt on the bottom, the underside of the ceramic top, as well as the interior to keep all of your most precious belongings safe from scratches.

Lembo drew inspiration from Byzantine iconography, making pieces like this with precious stones set in a frame decorated in gold leaf and finished with enamel to give it the crackled glaze effect.
